Decker was a country singer who believed herself to be a traditional country performer in the past was surprised that her album was not marketed and produced with a focus at a mass audience. Decker was adamant with the label to get more control over her music after two other singles fell. Her next release, Boys in the Summer is more country-oriented. The album that Decker released as Daughter of a Gypsy and Sweet American Dreams by Mercury Records, was canceled after Mercury saw the poor performances of three of her singles on the country charts.
